Re: What are the differences between AWS and Cloud hosting?
AWS or Amazon Web Services is an amalgamation of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service. It is nothing but a brand of a Cloud hosting. Bringing all these services together provides instant scaling capacity which is a valuable addition to the traditional Cloud hosting providers.
While a Cloud hosting is used to reference hosting services only, an AWS provides a plot of web serviced based on Cloud that serve a range of clients, be it an individual, startups or a large business who operate multiple production workloads on the Cloud.
Some of the services that an AWS offers are:
• Data storage facility like S3
• Compute services which include typical hosting services with VMs
• Management services
• Application services
• Analytic services
• Hardware security module
