NFS has known as the Network File System it is helpful in sharing the files over any network. This is a server application, which allows the server to the computer to update or store the files. With the help of NFS, different resources like storage devices and printers can also be shared. This is the fastest way of sharing files and it is also used to separate a disk on a remote machine.

What is its purpose?

The basic purpose of NFS is to share the files remotely. It also permits the system administrator to designate a portion or the complete file system on any server. The portion of the mounted file system is therefore accessed by the clients. The NFS command in Linux is used to access data on other networks despite being in a remote location. This states that even though the data is stored on any single machine it can be accessed without any hassles.

NFS protects the database of a user by preventing access to any unwanted person who may get admittance to the emails and may delete files. The files available on one operating system can, therefore, be shared with the help of NFS.CM Yojana
