VPS can be prevented from being used for spam through unauthorized access. Where the server is compromised‚ attackers can gain control over its functions. Scripts running in a website will have restricted access and can reach only those accounts they are running in. In the instance of an account being compromised hackers will not be able to alter other sites running on the server. Similarly‚ the underlying server configuration too remains secure and beyond the reach of hackers. Make sure your accounts have passwords that are not commonplace and difficult to break into. There are advanced software systems available that can identify and prevent spam from being sent from your vps server.
